KOK  ISOGAGE
Computer Software for Gages

Summary

The KOK ISOGAGE TM Computer Software for Gages (Price $135.00 Part no. RKOK-CDGAGE ),   provides the powerful tool you need to cut costs in manufacturing and engineering.
See How ISO METRIC Standards Cut Manufacturing Costssmallnew.gif (926 bytes).

Here is how you click your way through selecting the best gage for your application.
Gagemakers Tolerance Class ; Just click on one of the five gagemakers tolerance Standard Classes described or the Special Class of your choice . Just click until you see the preferred workpiece tolerance zones you need for each gagemakers class and you get instant display of plug or ring gage limits dimensions. You may also enter any second or third choice tolerance zone.

Basic Sizesmallnew.gif (926 bytes); Click on first , second or third choice basic size or enter your own special size up to 3150 mm . You may also click on a preferred inch size or enter a special size followed by the inch ,", symbol.
Output ; Instant display of limit dimensions for GO-NOGO plug or ring (snap) gages as follows ;
For example;  25C11 ZM (0.05IT11)
(GO 25.1165/25.1100 ; NOGO 25.2400/25.2335) PLUG GAGE
or
25h11 ZM (0.05IT11)
(GO 25.0000/24.9935 ; NOGO 24.8765/24.8700) RING (SNAP) GAGE .
Press Copy in order to transfer the above lines to drawing or specification .

Key Benefits

instant display of GO-NOGO limit dimensions for plug or ring (snap) gages.
cut and paste limits to drawing or specification.
reduced cost of standard gages.
fast deliveries of preferred gages.
help global manufacturing of American products.
provide gage limits for all ISO tolerances. See KOK ISOTOL TM Computer Tolerance Software.
direct correlation between gagemakers and workpiece tolerances e.g. h11 use IT11 gage.

Preferred Gagemakers Tolerance Classes

Make the selection of one of five gagemakers tolerance Standard Classes (ZM, YM, XM, XXM, XXXM) which correspond to the customary inch classes (Z, Y, X, XX, XXX) . The metric classes are computed from five percent of the applicable International Tolerance (IT) grade as follows ; ZM(0.05IT11) , YM(0.05IT9) , XM(0.05IT8) , XXM(0.05IT7) , XXXM(0.05IT6) . Click on the Special Classes* (0.05IT18, 0.05IT17, . . . . , 0.05IT2, 0.05IT1) and click again on the class of your choice. Normally you want to use a gage with the same IT grade as used on the workpiece. For example use the gagmakers special class 0.05IT10 on plug gages to inspect holes held to workpiece tolerance zone H10, or the standard class XXM(0.05IT7) on ring (snap) gages to inspect a shaft held to the tolerance zone g7.

*Standard and Special Class (SC) gagemakers tolerances are equal to 5% of workpiece tolerance or 5% of the applicable IT grade value.

Preferred Workpiece Tolerance Zones

Standard gages use one of the workpiece tolerance zones shown in the ten preferred fits.    See  KOK ISOTOL TM Computer Tolerance Software.   Specify any other special hole or shaft tolerance zone of your choice,  but be prepared to wait for delivery and pay more for those gages.

Sizes

Preferred Basic Sizessmallnew.gif (926 bytes).  The preferred metric sizes are from the ANSI B4.2 standard and here grouped into first,   second and third choices.  Use the preference rating whenever possible in order to help rationalize variations in manufacturing.  Any special sizes in the range up to 3150 mm may be entered.  The full set of tolerance zones are available up the size 500 mm.  You may also select a standard inch size or enter a special inch size followed by the symbol, " .

Gages

Plug and ring (snap) gages to the first and second choice basic sizes are tabulated in the ANSI B4.4M standard for the five gagemakers tolerance Standard Classes.    Plug and ring gages for checking preferred sizes and tolerance zones are readily available (off-the-shelf) in EU countries,  and gagemakers in USA will most likely keep a similar inventory of preferred gages.
